How to Get Unlimited Followers

It all starts with this.

Getting followers isn’t easy.

I’ve met so many people who were desperate for followers that they’d do many nonsensical things such as:

  • Complain about it
  • Cause unnecessary drama
  • Throw away their integrity
  • Give up

If this is you (or what you would become), then get ready to do a complete 180 and see those followers stampeding in by the thousands.

Love Yourself

Love yourself as the number one goal in your branding.

People want to see someone full of confidence and warmth. They don’t want someone timid and uncomfortable. The love you have for yourself will gush out from within you and pour onto everyone else.

Start loving yourself and you’ll see a remarkable difference in your follower count.

Tell a Story

It’s like you’re telling a story.

The story has the same plot, but with a new addition unveiled everyday. People love waking up to what’s new and happening in your story, whether it’s about trending fashion or tortoises.

The story doesn’t even have to be exciting! I have seen people do well with such mundane stories that it’s borderline insanity. The story is just the starting point, and your actions make it animated.

Don’t be afraid to tell your story. You’re the story teller, and it’s up to you to tell it as you see fit. Allow yourself to bring it to life.

Follow the rules, though. Don’t defame, criticize, or otherwise attempt to harm other people. Keep it civil and light-hearted for the most part (unless you’re going for more edgy content). Think: Disney, but with your own twist.

Allow Them to Become You

If the user can relate to you, then they will be all the more interested.

People’s favorite topic is themselves.

People are busy and can’t follow their dreams. If you can be the one to show them what’s possible, then you can be sure to garner nearly unlimited followers.

Show them what it’s like to wear trendy clothing. Show them what it’s like to travel to remote areas of the world. Show them what it’s like to have a loving family. The possibilities are endless.

Lead the Tribe

Once you start accumulating a following, it’s your job to keep it all going.

Lead by example.

Lead everyone by showing them what to do (and also what not to do). Show them how to behave, how to dress, how to eat — literally everything. This is a new lifestyle for them, and you are the one guiding them down the right path.

Be professional. Understand that you’re now an influencer, a top brand in the world, and that it’s your full-time job.

Many people want to be famous, but they don’t realize that becoming an influencer means that you become the persona that you create. Once people see you as a “world class baker”, it becomes difficult for them to see you as a “rock star”.

Say goodbye to your old life. This is a good thing, don’t worry. As a top influencer in the world, you are leading the pack, and you are making huge changes in the world. This also means that you will probably end up quitting your job, making new friends, or moving to a new area of the world.

Stay Positive

Your follower count may drop unexpectedly.

Stay positive!

This happens periodically due to uncontrollable circumstances. COVID-19, for example, has caused many changes in the world, including the reduction of business to many sectors. But it’s certainly not the end.

Remind yourself that you’re in this for the long run, and that you will triumph. This is especially true if you’re following all of the rules and making things happen.

Viewer count goes up and down like a rollercoaster. Likes, follows, retweets, and every type of engagement imaginable will never be consistent. Take it as it is and don’t worry about it!

Smile for the camera (if you’re doing video or images). Smile, even if you’re not on camera. Let your positive energy radiate to everything and become one with the world. People will love you for it, and they always return.

Promise to Return

You need to rest, and your audience will not want you to go.

Tell them you’ll be back!

Don’t leave without saying goodbye, and definitely don’t leave without informing them of your next return! It’s even easier if you have a steady schedule going so that they know when you’ll be back.

Writers here on Medium tend to post at the same times everyday. I write at the same time everyday out of habit. You can do the same with your platform. Your audience will love you for it.

Keep it Going

This is probably the most overlooked part of becoming a top brand, and it makes me sad to see big names go under just because they thought they “made it”, and decided to stop producing content.

Your work is never done.

Get it out of your head that you’ll ever stop working. You’ll always work, but in this era, you actually have the choice of doing what you love, rather than doing what is available.

Historically, humans had to do jobs that were available, which they generally hated. Think of the times in history when people had to step into a large bucket of grapes, stomping around all day, so that people could have their fresh glass of wine.

Nowadays, we have the freedom to do what we want, so long as we can get paid to do so. People have flocked to social media and YouTube to become the next top influencer. Why? Because it pays, and pays very well.

Never stop working. Always keep it going.

If you do stop for a little bit, expect your audience to disperse, and expect it to be even more difficult to get them back, or to replace them. Why put yourself into that situation? You came all this way — might as well go all the way.

What are you doing to become an influencer? What has worked for you?
